The Root Beneath

A Signature Offering by Ash

Anxiety, Grief & the Wisdom of the Body

An invitation to journey beneath the surface, into the places within us that are asking to be witnessed.

What if anxiety wasn't something to silence? What if grief wasn't something to overcome? What if, rather than trying to fix ourselves, we became curious about what our bodies have been carrying?

The Root Beneath is my signature offering, an intimate, personalized journey into the relationship between anxiety, grief, and the body. Rooted in animism, ritual, and somatic awareness, this work invites you to explore what lies beneath your experiences and reconnect with the innate wisdom of your body.

Together, we create space to listen to the sensations, stories, and patterns that emerge within you. Drawing upon earth-based practices, ritual, guided reflection, breath, and embodied awareness, we explore ways to cultivate a deeper sense of connection, grounding, and belonging.

There is no prescribed path. This is a process we enter together, guided by your experiences, your needs, and your curiosity.

What's Included

A 90-Minute Private Zoom Session

An intimate, one-on-one session where we explore your relationship with anxiety, grief, and the body. Together, we'll look beneath the surface, make space for your experiences, and discover practices that resonate with you.

Your Personalized Practice Plan

Following our session, I'll create a custom plan designed around your individual needs. This may include somatic exercises, grounding techniques, breathwork, writing prompts, nature-based practices, and personal rituals to help you navigate anxiety and develop a deeper relationship with your body.

Practices to Carry Into Everyday Life

Rather than offering a temporary experience, my intention is to help you cultivate practices you can return to. Your personalized plan becomes a resource for continued exploration, reflection, and connection long after our session.

My Approach

I believe our bodies carry wisdom, and that anxiety and grief deserve our curiosity rather than our judgment. Through an animistic and ritualistic approach, we explore our relationship with ourselves and the natural world, remembering that we, too, belong to its cycles.

I am not a therapist or counsellor. This offering is not psychotherapy or a replacement for professional mental health care. My role is to offer guidance, companionship, and embodied practices that support your personal exploration.

There is nothing about you that I am here to fix. My work is about creating space to pay attention, deepen into your experiences, and discover what your body may be asking of you.

Grief Alchemy - Signature Offering 1:1
$950.00

Grief Alchemy

An Intimate Journey Through Grief, Ritual & Remembrance

Signature Offering

Grief is not something we leave behind. It is something we learn to carry, tend to, and transform our relationship with.

Grief Alchemy is a deeply personalized, three-session journey for those navigating loss, profound life transitions, or the quiet unraveling of a life they once knew.

Rooted in animism, ancestral wisdom, somatic awareness, and earth-based ritual, this offering creates space to explore your grief without expectations, timelines, or the pressure to heal.

Grief takes many forms. We grieve the people we have lost, the relationships that have ended, the versions of ourselves we have outgrown, and the futures we imagined but never lived.

Together, we explore what your grief is asking of you, creating meaningful practices that honour your experiences and deepen your connection to yourself, your body, and the natural world.

This is not about transforming pain into something beautiful. It is about discovering how to live alongside grief while making room for love, meaning, and everything that remains.

What's Included

6 Personalized, 1.5-Hour Sessions

This is private, guided support tailored entirely to you. Our sessions are shaped by your experiences, your relationship with grief, and what emerges throughout our time together. There is no predetermined path or expectation of where you should be.

Your Personalized Written Program

A custom program created specifically for your journey, including guided reflections, meaningful writing prompts, embodied practices, and exercises to explore between sessions. This becomes a personal resource you can continue returning to long after our work together.

Ritual, Remembrance & Embodied Practices

We explore practices rooted in ritual, somatic awareness, storytelling, and the natural world. Together, we may develop personal ceremonies or rituals that honour your loss and reflect your unique beliefs and experiences.

Access to My Resource Catalogue

You'll receive access to my curated collection of grief resources, reflective exercises, reading recommendations, ritual guidance, and embodied practices. These materials are yours to explore at your own pace and incorporate into your everyday life.

A Journey Shaped Around You

No two experiences of grief are alike, and neither should the support we receive.

Our 6 sessions offer an opportunity to dive deeply into your individual experience, with ongoing reflection and practices between our meetings. Rather than following a rigid structure, we allow your needs, questions, and experiences to guide our time together.

I am not a therapist or counsellor. My work offers non-clinical grief companionship, ritual, and embodied exploration, rather than psychotherapy or mental health treatment.

I believe there is nothing about your grief that needs fixing. It deserves somewhere to belong, someone to witness it, and the freedom to unfold in its own time.

The Art of Accompaniment - From Calling to Practice Mentorship
$950.00

An intimate mentorship in grief work, end-of-life care, and building a practice of your own.

For those who feel called to walk alongside others through grief, death, and life's most profound transitions, but aren't quite sure where to begin.

Accompanying the Dying is a four-session, one-on-one mentorship designed for aspiring end-of-life doulas, grief workers, and those wishing to deepen their existing practice.

Over the past decade, I have built a practice rooted in grief companionship, end-of-life care, ritual, and community support. Along the way, I have learned that this work asks us to develop more than knowledge and practical skills. It asks us to cultivate presence, understand our own relationship with mortality, and discover how to create a sustainable practice while caring for others.

This mentorship is an opportunity to learn directly from my experiences, explore the foundations of grief and end-of-life work, and receive practical guidance on building a practice that reflects your own values.

Rather than following a rigid curriculum, our time together will be tailored to your interests, experience, and aspirations.

Who This Mentorship Is For

This offering is for aspiring end-of-life doulas, grief facilitators, caregivers, ritualists, and anyone who feels called to accompany others through life's most vulnerable moments.

You don't need to have everything figured out before beginning. You may be exploring this work for the first time, transitioning into a new profession, or seeking practical mentorship as you develop an existing practice.

My intention is not to teach you to replicate the work I do, but to share what I've learned so you can discover your own way of doing this work.

This is educational mentorship, not a professional certification, clinical training, or a substitute for any qualifications required in your area.

The work begins with how we choose to accompany one another.

A space to explore grief, embodiment, ancestral wisdom and the beautiful, messy experience of being human

WRITE LIKE YOU MEAN IT

Saturday, October 17
11:00 - 2:00pm PST

Finding Your Voice, Releasing Shame & the Practice of Writing Yourself Home

A one-day workshop on writing as a practice of release, moving beyond the shame of being seen, and finding the courage to share what comes from the heart.

Somewhere along the way, many of us learned to silence ourselves. To question our words before they ever reached the page. To worry about how we might be perceived, whether our stories were worth telling, or whether we had anything meaningful to say at all.

And so we stopped writing. Or perhaps we never really began.

But what if writing wasn't about being a writer? What if it was simply a way of coming home to ourselves?

Writing has become one of the most important anchors in my own life. A place to empty my mind, meet my grief, untangle my thoughts, and find my way back to my voice when the world feels unbearably loud.

Write Like You Mean It is a one-day experiential workshop exploring writing as a practice of self-expression, embodiment, and personal discovery.

This isn't a creative writing class. We aren't here to perfect our grammar, produce beautiful prose, or create something worthy of sharing.

We're here to get honest. To write the things we've been afraid to say. To explore the shame that keeps us quiet and discover what happens when we give ourselves permission to take up space.

Thresholds: A Grief Companion for the In-Between - Free (my gift to you)

Grief does not move in a straight line, and it does not only belong to death. We grieve people, relationships, identities, health, homes, futures, and the lives we thought we were going to live. Sometimes grief arrives immediately. Sometimes it waits years before asking to be felt.

Thresholds: A Grief Companion for the In-Between is a deeply personal exploration of grief as a passage rather than something to fix, overcome, or leave behind. Written from my years of sitting beside the dying, facilitating traumatic loss groups, and accompanying people through some of the most tender and disorienting seasons of their lives, this book offers another way of understanding what happens to us when something we love is lost.

Through reflections, stories, rituals and embodied practices, we explore the many shapes grief can take, how it lives in the body and nervous system, the need for witnessing and ritual, our relationship with the natural world, the loss of identity that can accompany grief, and the slow process of learning to trust and participate in life again.

This is not a guide to β€œmoving on.” There are no tidy stages here and no expectation that you turn your loss into something beautiful. It is a companion for the in-betweenβ€”for the place where the old life no longer exists and you may not yet know who you are becoming.

You do not have to rush through that place.

You are allowed to grieve. You are allowed to change. And you are allowed to find your way back toward aliveness without leaving behind what you have loved.

Lessons from the Dying: What the end teaches us about living - Free (my gift to you)

Lessons from the Dying is a companion for those walking beside loss, a book born from years of sitting at the bedside of the dying and listening to what they most wanted the living to know.

Through poetic reflection and real encounters from her work as a death doula, Ash Embla invites readers into the quiet, transformative space where endings become teachers. These pages explore what death reveals about love, belonging, forgiveness, and what it means to live fully awake to impermanence.

Each chapter is a meditation, a reminder that dying is not separate from living, but part of the same sacred thread. From the wisdom of the body to the softening of the heart, this book offers stories and reflections that meet grief with reverence, truth, and tenderness.

For caregivers, seekers, and anyone who has faced loss, Lessons from the Dying is both an offering and a guide, an invitation to live with more presence, courage, and grace.
