CustomBindrune: A bindrune is the creation of an intentional symbol weaving runes in a linear or stacked form. This unique symbol can then be activated with chanting runic names (galdr), invocation to birth intent, carving the symbol into wood, painting onto cloth/hide or tattooing.
My first bindrune was made when I visited Iceland. A vitki (sorcerer/magician) carved the symbol into a piece of elk bone and tied it to a leather cord, to be worn as a necklace. While studying Norse pagan practices, my mentor showed me how to chant the names of the runes and weave them with sound before drawing or pulling them into physical form. She told me that vibration is the first gate of working with the runes.
Speak their name, sit quiet, ask them for the best ways to weave them. She said that the runes are ancient beings that cannot be “used”, they interact, assist and help integrate wisdom that innately exists in the beholder.
