Meet Ash

Ash is a threshold walker, grief tender, and earth rooted guide devoted to helping people meet the most sacred and vulnerable passages of being human.

Her work lives at the crossroads of death care, myth, ritual, and remembrance. For over a decade she has served as an end of life doula, sitting beside the dying and the grieving with steadiness, reverence, and deep listening. She does not turn away from the tender places. She helps others enter them with courage.

Rooted in animism and Norse cosmology, Ash understands life as a living web of relationship between land, ancestors, body, and spirit. Her offerings weave ancient ways with present moment care.

Through rune work, grief ritual, and guided sessions held in nature, she creates spaces where people can listen to the wisdom beneath their pain and remember who they are becoming. She sees grief not as something to fix, but as an initiation that reshapes the soul and opens new pathways into aliveness.

Work With Us
  • There is something about being in Ash’s presence that makes it feel safe to be completely honest. She sees what is underneath the surface without judgment. Our work together helped me understand patterns I had carried for years and gently guided me into a new way of relating to myself and my life.

    —Emily. R

  • Ash has a rare ability to be with death in a way that is calm, sacred, and deeply human. During one of the most vulnerable times in our family’s life, she was a steady and compassionate presence.

    —Rita Harrison

  • I came to Ash at a major life crossroads, feeling lost and disconnected from my sense of purpose. She helped me trust the in between place instead of trying to escape it. That shift changed everything.

    —Michael Shuuk

  • What stood out most was how intuitive and collaborative the process was. Ash listened not only to my ideas but to what was underneath them. She asked questions no one else had asked me and translated feelings, memories, and stories into visual form. The final design felt more like a revelation than a product.

    -Marie L.

  • There is an intentionality behind Ash’s art that you can feel. She approaches creation like ritual. The piece she made for me marked a transition in my life, and it truly feels like it holds that threshold moment. Every time I look at it, I am reminded of who I am becoming.

    -Evan Olsen

If you are at a crossroads…

Endings are not just losses. They are thresholds. Whether it is a relationship, identity, dream, or season of life, I walk beside you as you honor what has been and make space for what is next. Through conversation, ritual, and reflection, we allow the ending to do its sacred work instead of rushing past it.

If something in your life is ending

The in between place is uncomfortable, but it is also fertile. If you feel untethered, unsure, or like the old maps no longer apply, our sessions help you find orientation again. Not by forcing answers, but by helping you build a relationship with your own inner knowing, your body, and the deeper currents moving through your life.

If you feel lost or in between

Growth often feels like shedding. Old patterns, roles, and protections fall away, and it can feel vulnerable. This work supports you as you step into a more honest and embodied version of yourself. Together we name what is ready to be released and strengthen your capacity to live from who you are now, not who you had to be before.

If you are being called into a new version of yourself

Thresholds: A Grief Companion for the In-between

In Thresholds, grief guide and end-of-life doula Ash Embla offers a deeply compassionate and grounded companion for those navigating profound loss. Drawing on over a decade of experience in hospice, ritual facilitation, and trauma-informed care, Ash invites us into the raw, transformative territory of grief, not as a problem to solve, but as a sacred process that reshapes the soul.

Through a weaving of personal story, somatic insight, mythic perspective, and earth-based ritual, Thresholds offers the reader not a map, but a lantern, something to carry into the dark.

This is not a guide for “moving on.”
It is a guide for staying present.
For finding meaning in the aftermath.
For letting grief remake you, gently, fiercely, and with deep integrity.

Whether you are grieving someone you love, something you lost, or the version of yourself that no longer exists, Thresholds will meet you where you are. And it will walk with you, step by step, until you begin to remember that you are still here and still becoming.
